・The classes will be total of 12 classes hold once a week.

・We have two courses; Sunday course and Thursday course. The courses are the same program. Please choose one of them suit your schedule.

About Ogaki International Exchange Association
Ogaki International Exchange Association was established in September, 1988. This organization works for international exchange activities in various fields like culture, sports, education, as well as working in cooperation with the foreign residents in the areas around Ogaki. We are aiming at building an attractive city suitable for this internationalized age.

The population of Ogaki City is 164,745 including 5,662 foreign residents. It means that one in 29 people is a foreign resident. The number of foreign residents from each country is follows.

*One-to-one Japanese language study for foreign residents
About 200 Japanese volunteers are helping foreign residents to learn Japanese.
Call us if you would like to study Japanese with Japanese volunteers.
*A place for foreign residents to consult about troubles in their lives in Japan.
Consultation in Portuguese    Monday,Wednesday,Friday,Saturday and Sunday
In English speakers    Everyday

We are not available in Chinese for a while from August 1, 2009.
*Consultations on formalities involving the immigration bureau for foreign residents
We hold free immigration formalities consultations for foreign residents with help from the Gifu Prefecture public notary.
*Japanese traditional clothes "Kimonos" for foreign residents
Foreign residents can put on Kimonos with the help of OIEA volunteers
      10:00-12:00 every other Sunday
*Day visits to Japanese families
Foreign residents visiting OIEA Japanese volunteers families can experience Japanese family life and exchange cultures.
*Participation in the Jumangoku Festival
Foreign residents can take part in the festival with Japanese people carrying portable shrines on their shoulders'.
*"Voice of Foreign residents"
Foreign residents talk about their lives in Japan in Japanese.
*We have more booklets with other information as following
- Handbills on how to separate rubbish and how to take it out (Portuguese, Chinese, English)
- Guidebooks for how to live in this area (Portuguese, Chinese, English)
- Ogaki City Maps of Designated Refuge Sites (Portuguese, Chinese, English, Korean alphabet)
- Guidebooks and maps for living in the Nishi-Mino area (Chinese, English, other)
2.  Overseas Friendly cities
We have been having friendship exchanges with 6 overseas cities. We call them "Ogaki Friendly Cities"

- Glen Eira, Victoria, Australia: Population 122,738, Area 38.7Km2

*Sending Student Delegation groups
We send some selected Ogaki students to friendly cities to let them have experiences like visiting schools or facilities and staying with a host-family, as well as deepening the friendship between Ogaki and friendly cities.

We welcome student groups from friendly cities. The members of the groups visit local schools and make friends with students in Ogaki during their stay at OIEA's Volunteers'. They also get the experiences of doing Japanese Tea Ceremony and putting on Japanese Kimonos.
